White House: U.S. Will Not Join WHO-Led Global Coronavirus Vaccine Initiative (usnews.com)
The U.S. will not join a global initiative to secure and distribute a coronavirus vaccine led by the World Health Organization and others, according to a White House official.
Some members of the Trump administration were interested in joining the effort, called Covax, according to the Washington Post, which first reported the news. But the White House did not want to work with groups influenced by WHO and China, two of President Donald Trump's regular targets for criticism amid the pandemic.
